I initially made this homemade body wash for my son but I love it and have been using it also.
It is free from all those gross chemicals found in other body wash and inexpensive to make (natural baby body wash can be pricey).
I make it using Dr. Bronner’s castile soap. I usually use the unscented one and then add essential oils (I like lavender because it is soothing but citrus blends like grapefruit are also really nice for an energy boost in the morning). The nourishing oil used in this body wash will leave your skin feeling soft and smooth and it is even gentle enough to use on your face.
1 cup water (distilled or boiled and cooled)
1/2 cup castile soap (such as Dr. Bronner’s)
2 tablespoons nourishing oil (I like sweet almond oil, fractionated coconut oil also works well)
10-15 drops essential oil (I like lavender, citrus or peppermint)
– Add the water, castile soap, oil and essential oil into a jar or container and mix or shake it to combine. Then pour it into your squeeze bottle or container of choice to use in the shower or bath. Make sure you shake it before each use.
*The consistency of this body wash is different from store bought ones. It will be watery but it lathers well on a wash cloth, bath loofah or just in your hands.
